Denmark are planning to retain the services of Huddersfield Town's long throw specialist, Philip Billing for the rest of his career, national team coach åge Hareide has hinted.
Having played for Denmark's U19 and U21 teams in competitive matches, Billing is provisionally cap-tied to the Scandinavians but can still exercise his right to play for the Super Eagles as things stand.
It has been predicted that Billing will soon be promoted to Denmark's senior team to replace the experienced FC Copenhagen defensive midfielder William Kvist.
''They are going through an apprenticeship to get to the senior national team, and then we have a group of players who have been on the senior national team for a long time and that they should be able to turn off to join,'' Denmark boss Hareide told fyens.dk.
''Philip Billing, Robert Skov and Jacob Bruun Larsen are players who have to knock hard on the door all the time and so is the question when to open the door.
"There is no doubt that they are future national team players, but they must compete against players who have already played very well at the national team.''
Billing has been named in the latest Danish U21 squad for their games in November against Spain and England.
