Two Nigerian youngsters in the shape of Sotona and Shola Shoretire started the encounter at the Palm Training Ground, while their compatriot Dillon Hoogewerf was introduced in the 67th minute of the game.
Sotona, wearing the No. 9 shirt was a menace on the break for the West Brom defenders and could have been on the scoresheet in the first half but saw the woodwork deny him.
He will however, win a penalty for United just before the break when he got in behind a defender and was tripped in the area.
You can recall that four days ago, Sotona won a penalty against today's opponents in their Premier League Cup game which ended 3-2 in his side's favour.
Manchester United remain eighth on the 12-team league table with 14 points and are next in action versus Stoke City on December 7th.
