Lyon, Rennes Join Chinese Club In Race To Sign Nantes Winger Moses Simon?
Two French Ligue 1 clubs have declared their interest in signing Nigeria international Moses Simon.
Eurosport journalist Manu Lonjon has claimed that Simon is a transfer priority for Rennes this summer and face competition from Lyon.
It was also suggested last month that Nantes had received an offer worth 12 million
euros from an unnamed Chinese club for the services of the former Gent winger.
Nantes are working on activating the purchase option for Simon set at 5 million euros and are in no hurry to sell the player but will listen to offers.
The carrot Rennes will dangle in front of Simon is the chance to play in the UEFA Champions League next season if he decides to move to the club following their third place finish in the Ligue 1.
He had a breakout season at Nantes, scoring 9 goals and setting up eight others in 30 games across all competitions.
Simon receives a salary of 150,000 euros every month at Nantes.
