Danish First Division club Viborg FF are on the verge of confirming the signing of Dabo Babes Academy midfielder Ibrahim Said on a four-year contract.
The 2002-born player was one of the Golden Eaglets players that left Brazil with his reputation intact after the five-time world champions crashed out of the 2019 FIFA U17 World Cup in the round of 16 thanks to the hat-trick he netted against Ecuador in the group stage.
Ibrahim was linked with a plethora of clubs in Europe and recently turned down potential moves to Club Brugge and Turkish champions Istanbul Basaksehir before agreeing terms with Viborg.
Explaining why Viborg was chosen as the preferred destination, Muzammil Dalhatu Yola, the coordinator of Dabo Babes Academy told allnigeriasoccer.com : "Ibrahim Said has signed a four-year deal with Vilborg.
"He is now in Abuja awaiting his work permit before he travels to Denmark to join his new team. The advantage is that the contract is signed so he can leave anytime.
"Club Brugge and Istanbul Basaksehir were also interested but we checked the advantages, he will not have playing time in the two clubs to establish himself.
"Viborg is a Division One club (second-tier), there is no pressure. Concerning the issue of money, we would have benefited more if he moved to Club Brugge or Istanbul Basaksehir but we sacrificed that for his development.
"Club Brugge and Istanbul Basaksehir wanted him to trial before offering him a contract but he did not have to undergo tests with Viborg.
"Viborg have a history of developing African players. As a young player it is a good move for him."
Alhaji Gero, Paul Obiefule and Babajide Ogunbiyi have represented Viborg in the past.
