Nigeria-eligible midfielder Marvin Akinlabi is in line to make his UEFA Champions League debut when Spanish champions Real Madrid face Liverpool on Wednesday evening.
It is confirmed that manager Zinedine Zidane is set to name Akinlabi in the matchday squad against the Premier League giants as he traveled with Los Blancos first team to Liverpool on Tuesday.
And it would be his first squad involvement in the Champions League since he joined Real Madrid five years ago.
Zidane selected three Real Madrid Castilla players for the trip to Liverpool, the others being Victor Chust and Sergio Arribas.
Upon the team's arrival in England, Akinlabi was among the Real Madrid players that took to the Anfield pitch to complete the final training session ahead of the Champions League quarterfinal second leg clash.
The 20-year-old, who is also eligible to represent Spain and South Korea internationally, has been given game time in three La Liga matches this season - against Real Sociedad, SD Huesca and Getafe.
Real Madrid defeated Liverpool 3-1 in the first leg of the Champions League quarterfinals last Tuesday.
