Through a statement on their official website, Arsenal have confirmed that they have reached an agreement with League One club Portsmouth for the temporary transfer of Nigeria-eligible wonderkid Miguel Azeez.
The England youth international will be spending the remainder of the 2021-2022 campaign on loan at Portsmouth.
Azeez departs the Emirates Stadium in search of regular game time after making only one appearance for the first team in last season's Europa League group stage game against Dundalk in December.
The Anglo-Spanish-Nigerian midfielder made his competitive debut for Arsenal U18s whilst still a schoolboy and made his Premier League 2 debut at the age of 16.
Speaking on the signing of Azeez, Portsmouth boss Danny Cowley told the club's official website : "There has been a lot of interest from other clubs because of his ability. He’s a great kid with a really mature outlook.
"You can see the hunger and humility to learn and get better, which we really like. He’s really studious and wants to find ways to improve his performance.
"We think the supporters will like Miguel and he’s very good at dribbling, while he can be a real goal threat for us as well.
"I think he also brings us an athleticism and power that can complement what we already have in our squad."
Azeez, who captained Arsenal in their first two matches in this season's Premier League 2, has been on the books of the Gunners since the age of five.
