Leicester City winger Harvey Barnes has revealed that himself and Ademola Lookman tried to make an impact after coming off the bench during the 2-0 loss to Arsenal in the Premier League on Saturday afternoon.
Trailing 2-0 at half-time through goals from Gabriel and Emile Smith Rowe, manager Brendan Rodgers made offensive changes in the second half, bringing on Barnes, Lookman and the Zambian Patson Daka in an attempt to salvage something from the game.
Having denied Kelechi Iheanacho and James Maddison in the first half, Arsenal goalkeeper Aaron Ramsdale also made brilliant saves to keep out efforts from Lookman and Barnes.
On 58 minutes, Lookman went for goal after a lovely back-heel from Jamie Vardy but Ramsdale produced a magnificent save.
"When you come on and the team is down, you do whatever you can to help the team get back in the game. Me and Ade [Lookman] came on at half-time and we tried to make an impact," Barnes told LCFC TV.
"We both had a few chances and, on another day, they go in and we get ourselves back in the game. Today, that didn’t go our way."
Leicester City are next in action against Victor Moses' Spartak Moscow in the UEFA Europa League on Thursday, November 4.
