In Claudio Ranieri's first game in charge of Watford, the Reds cruised to an easy 5-0 win at Vicarage Road with Sadio Mane, Mohamed Salah and Roberto Firmino getting their names on the scoresheet.
Super Eagles star Troost-Ekong was one of the Watford players that did not live up to expectations as he was at the heart of the defence that conceded five goals.
There's no debating that Salah produced the standout moment of the game in the 54th minute when he netted a solo goal reminiscent of his strike against Manchester City earlier in the season.
Speaking to Baller Talk's Femi Ilesanmi, James Alabi and Doe E, Troost-Ekong said : "We're hurt obviously losing 5-0 Premier League, everybody is watching.
"1230 game, it's never nice and they played us at the park and one thing that I'd have to say is that we weren't good enough as well.
"They were a different class and they probably would have still won the game if they would have matched us when we were playing our best level but I think we probably felt disappointed looking back at the game that we really didn't provide that resilience that we wanted to do.
"I think that's probably the most painful thing. When you lose a certain way it's never nice but Liverpool looked different class".

With the exception of the 1-0 away loss to Arsenal just before the international break, Troost-Ekong has put in a full shift in all the matches played by Watford in the Premier League in 2021-2022.
