In Claudio Ranieri's first game in charge of Watford, the Reds cruised to an easy 5-0 win at Vicarage Road with Sadio Mane, Mohamed Salah and Roberto Firmino getting their names on the scoresheet.
Super Eagles star Troost-Ekong was one of the Watford players that did not live up to expectations as he was at the heart of the defence that conceded five goals.
"They were a different class and they probably would have still won the game if they would have matched us when we were playing our best level but I think we probably felt disappointed looking back at the game that we really didn't provide that resilience that we wanted to do.
"I think that's probably the most painful thing. When you lose a certain way it's never nice but Liverpool looked different class".
