Cyriel Dessers was satisfied with the overall performance of his Feyenoord teammates during their 2-1 win over Maccabi Haifa in the final group game in the UEFA Europa Conference League on Thursday night.
By getting on the scoresheet in the 38th minute, it meant the Super Eagles striker has found the net in each of his last three matches in the Conference, increasing his tally to four in the competition.
Handed a rare start by manager Arne Slot, the in-form Racing Genk loanee broke the deadlock in the 38th minute when he spun on the ball and put it inside the goalkeeper's right hand post.
In the second half, Dessers could have netted his second of the night but his angled shot was saved by the Maccabi Haifa goalkeeper.
Speaking post-match, Dessers told Feyenoord's official website : "No matter how long I play, I just want to be important to the team.
"We've had a lot of chances. We were a little less dominant in the second half, but I think we can be satisfied.
"It was a strange game without an audience and with a lot of changes, but I'm glad we won".
Feyenoord ended the group stage undefeated, topping their group with fourteen points after four wins and two draws.
