Chelsea academy product Ola Aina has seemingly agreed with UEFA's decision to name N'Golo Kante Man of the Match for Chelsea's Champions League round of 16 clash against Lille at Stamford Bridge on Tuesday night.
Goals in either half of the contest have given the reigning European and world champions a good lead to take to France in the second leg which comes up on March 16.
After Kai Havertz opened the scoring in the eighth minute, Christian Pulisic doubled the advantage on 63 minutes.
In naming Kante Player of the Match, the UEFA Technical Observers noted that Kante was everywhere from start to finish, recovering the ball, winning one-on-ones and then setting up Pulišić for the second goal.
Aina spent twelve years at Chelsea, first joining on schoolboy terms and rose through the ranks before making his professional debut.
The Super Eagles fullback appeared for the Blues in the Premier League, FA Cup and League Cup but didn't make his European debut for the London club.
Now at Torino, Aina totaled six appearances for his boyhood club, playing alongside Kante in four of those games - Leicester City, Watford (Premier League), Peterborough United (FA Cup) ) and West Ham United (League Cup) - during the 2016-2017 season under Antonio Conte.
Aina liked a picture posted by Chelsea's official Instagram account showing a smiling Kante with the Man of the Match prize.
