Alex Iwobi has revealed that he scored his last-gasp winner in Everton's 1-0 win over Newcastle United with his weaker left foot.
Nine minutes deep into stoppage time, the Super Eagles playmaker skipped past a challenge and exchanged passes with Dominic
Calvert-Lewin before driving low into the bottom right corner for the
game winning goal.
Iwobi has now scored twenty two goals for his English clubs since making his professional debut, seven in the colours of Everton and fifteen for boyhood club Arsenal.
His claim of scoring with his weaker foot against the Magpies is statistically correct, having netted 16 career goals with his right foot, three with his left foot and three through headers.
Iwobi has praised substitute Calvert-Lewin for assisting him score the goal that secured all three points for Frank Lampard's side.
"For the goal, I just wanted to relax and stay composed. It was on my weaker foot as well.," Iwobi said to Everton's official website.
"The main thing was to hit the target, beat the keeper – and it turned out to be the goal we needed.
"Dominic also did very well to stay composed and wait for me to overlap. I have to give credit to him for assisting me and I was able to slot the ball in the corner".
Up next for Iwobi and his teammates, they travel to Selhurst Park to face Crystal Palace in the quarterfinals of the Emirates FA Cup on Sunday, March 20.
