Kenya Federation Frowns At Harambee Stars Reception

According to <i><b>michezoafrika.com</b></i>, following the substandard reception accorded to the Kenya national soccer team Harambee Stars upon landing in Lagos on Wednesday afternoon, Football Kenya Federation (FKF) has written an official letter of complaint to their counterparts, Nigerian Football Federation.<br /><br />The Kenyan team landed in Nigeria on Wednesday but was told they will have to spend the night in Lagos yet initial communication suggested the Nigerian FA will have a chartered flight awaiting the Stars in Lagos for a direct flight to the city of the match Calabar. <br /><br />The 2014 FIFA world Cup qualifier match against Nigeria&rsquo;s Super Eagles will be played in Calabar on Saturday afternoon.<br /><br />In the letter dated 20th of March 2013, FKF Secretary General Michael Esakwa told the Nigerian FA, &ldquo;As per your earlier Correspondence and Commitment our national team was to be flown to Calabar upon arrival, but this has not been done yet,&rdquo; He said, &ldquo;The Kenya National Team is still held up in Lagos and booked in a substandard hotel and Without a training ground.&rdquo;<br /><br />&ldquo;We demand that the team be flown to Calabar by today 20th March and be availed a training ground and be accommodated in a hotel that befits the status and dignity of a National Team.&rdquo;
