Official: Skillful Super Eagles Midfielder Joel Obi Joins Chievo Verona
Joel Obi has ended speculation about his future after penning a contract with Italian Serie A club Chievo Verona.
The Flying Donkeys have reported on their official website that Obi has inked a three-year contract with an option for a further season.
The attacking midfielder was highly sought after by Italian clubs in the summer transfer window because he is classed as a homegrown player as he was first registered by Inter Milan in 2005 at the age of fourteen.
Obi is credited with 110 appearances in the Serie A, 8 in the Champions League and 6 in the Europa League.
The Italian-Nigerian made his professional debut for Inter Milan in their 4-0 win over Werder Bremen in September 2010, replacing Dejan Stanković in the 80th minute.
The skillful midfielder spent the 2013-14 season on loan at Parma and severed his ties with the Nerazzurri in the summer of 2015 after joining Torino.
For the 2018-2019 campaign, Joel Obi will wear the number 22 jersey at Chievo Verona.
