Nigeria, England Battling Republic Of Ireland For Arsenal Prodigy Okoflex
Published: April 20, 2017
The Nigeria Football Federation and English FA are behind Football Association of Ireland for the services of one of the most exciting young talents at Arsenal academy, Armstrong Okoflex.
The winger or striker was born in Dublin to Nigerian parents before relocating to the English capital.
England had been in pole position for Okoflex, handing him a debut at U15 level, before he was snatched from under their noses by the Republic of Ireland.
The likes of Tottenham Hotspur, Chelsea, Fulham and West Ham were fighting for the signature of the soccer prodigy before he was snapped up by Arsenal four years ago.
The qualities that make Armstrong Okoflex stand out are his low center of gravity, good turn of pace, excellent dribbling skills and he can use both feet equally well.
The 15-year-old was impressive on Tuesday as the Republic of Ireland U15s thrashed Norway 4-1 at an invitational tournament in Prague.
