Super Eagles target Femi Azeez delivered an impressive performance, scoring twice against Oxford United in the final game of the Championship season on Saturday afternoon.

However, the flamboyant winger's efforts were not enough to secure automatic promotion for Millwall, who missed out following Ipswich Town's 3-0 rout of Queens Park Rangers.

Millwall’s reward for finishing third in the Championship with 83 points, just one behind Ipswich Town, is a semifinal playoff clash against Semi Ajayi's Hull City.

Azeez gave The Lions a deserved lead in the 34th minute, firing past goalkeeper Jamie Cumming after he was teed up by Mihailo Ivanović.

Three minutes into the second half, the tri-national attacker ghosted in at the back post and emphatically blasted home his second of the afternoon.

Azeez recorded 19 goal involvements( 11 goals and eight assists) in 35 league appearances during the 2025–26 season, a run of form that has placed him on the radar of Nigeria coach Eric Chelle ahead of his squad announcement for this month's Unity Cup.

Millwall will face Hull City in the first leg of the playoff semifinals on Friday, May 8 at the MKM Stadium, with the return leg scheduled for Monday, May 11 at The Den.
