TONY NWAKAEME Rejected Offers From Italy, France and Germany
Tony Nwakame severed ties with Romanian top flight club Universitatea Cluj and joined rivals Petrolul Ploiesti last month. <br /><br />The striker has revealed to <b>allnigeriasoccer.com</b> the circumstances that led to his departure from Cluj for a new adventure.<br /><br />''The President of Universitatea Cluj left the club and moved to Petrolul Ploiesti. He talked to me about moving with him. I did not have to think twice about the offer before accepting. I signed a two - year contract with Petrolul Ploiesti,'' said Tony Nwakaeme.<br /><br />The 23- year - old striker, younger brother of Vietnam based forward Dickson Nwakaeme,claims he snubbed offers from clubs outside Romania before putting pen to paper on a contract with the Oilers.<br /><br />He disclosed: ''Some agents told me they had deals for me in Italy, France and Germany. Then I had a contract with Universitatea Cluj, and the outgoing president did not want me to sign for another team. He was the one that convinced me to join him in Petrolul Ploiesti.''<br /><br />Tony Nwakaeme scored seven goals for past club Universitatea Cluj last season. Four of those strikes came in November, 2011.<br /><br />
