Scottish Premiership side Aberdeen have loaned out 2002-born Nigerian player Peter Ambrose to Hungarian side Diósgyőri VTK (DVTK).
The 23-year-old will spend the remainder of the season at DVTK, subject to international clearance.
In search of playing opportunities, with no first team appearances to his name this season, Ambrose has opted to return to Hungarian football, where he enjoyed a successful stint with Újpest FC.
He tallied fourteen goal involvements (10 goals, 4 assists) in 45 Nemzeti Bajnokság I matches across two seasons before switching to Aberdeen in the summer of 2024.
Ambrose has opened up on his preferred position and ambitions following his loan move to DVTK.
He also referenced Nigerian attacker Bright Edomwonyi as a familiar figure within the Nemzeti Bajnokság I.
"When DVTK first contacted me, I immediately thought of Bright Edomwonyi from the club, whom I know from Nigeria and who spent a nice time here. Of course, I also remembered that I scored two goals against Diósgyőr," he told DVTK's official webpage.
"Now I'm returning to Hungary because it's a challenge to show my skills again. I like to play in the middle of the attack best, but if we line up with two strikers, I can handle that too.
"Above all, my goal is to help the team and the club on the pitch in the best way I can. And then we'll see at the end of the championship how far we can go."
After twenty matches in the Hungarian top-flight, DVTK are tenth in the 12-team table with nineteen points.
