Arsenal U21 striker Daniel Oyetunde capped his recent professional contract signing with a goal despite the young Gunners suffering a 4-1 defeat to Austria Wien II in their third pre-season fixture.
Oyetunde, who came on as a second-half substitute for Bailey-Joseph, found the net after Austria Wien II had raced into a four-goal lead through Konstantin Aleksa, Marijan Österreicher, and Marcel Stöger.
The 18-year-old forward combined brilliantly with Ceadach O’Neill before slotting home from close range to reduce the deficit.
The Nigerian-eligible striker, who joined Arsenal as a U15 player before earning a two-year scholarship, signed his first professional contract this summer after a string of impressive performances in the academy setup.
Despite the heavy defeat, Oyetunde’s display was one of the few positives for Arsenal’s U21s, as he continues to push for a more prominent role.
Known for his versatility, sharp movement, and goal-scoring instincts, the youngster is already being tipped as one to watch in the club’s future plans.
The Gunners will return to action on Tuesday against Enfield Town, with Oyetunde hoping for more minutes to build on his pre-season form and prove his readiness for senior football.
