League Two side Port Vale are through to the next round of the Papa John's Trophy after thrashing Liverpool U21s 5-0 at Vale Park on Tuesday night.
London-born winger of Nigerian descent David Amoo played the entirety of the second half for Port Vale.
The 30-year-old was on the books of Liverpool for five years, 2007 to 2012, and the highlight of his stay at Anfield was making his professional debut in a Europa League qualifying tie against Rabotnicki in July 2010.
George Lloyd, with a diving header, broke the deadlock in the 15th minute before Politic slotted home from a tight angle to give the home team a comfortable lead at the break.
Mal Benning sealed things with a goal in the 51st minute, before strikes from Aaron Martin and Taylor earned Port Vale a comprehensive win.
During his Liverpool days, Amoo enjoyed loan spells at Milton Keynes Dons, Hull City and Bury.
The former Millwall schoolboy has also worn the colours of Preston North End, Tranmere Rovers, Carlisle United, Partick Thistle and Cambridge United in the past.
