Twelve years after joining the Chelsea Academy, Poole-born winger of Nigerian descent, Faustino Anjorin will start his first official game for the Premier League giants when they tackle Russian side Krasnodar in a Champions League Group E fixture at Stamford Bridge on Tuesday night, and this is official.
 
The official website of UEFA has published the starting lineup for both teams and Anjorin has been picked by manager Frank Lampard.

With no pressure on Chelsea as they are guaranteed finishing top of the group regardless of the outcome of tonight's fixture and injuries to wingers Hakim Ziyech and Callum Hudson-Odoi, the Anglo-Nigerian has been selected to provide firepower to the team.

Barring an injury in the pre-match warm up, Anjorin will follow in the footsteps of John Obi Mikel, Celestine Babayaro, Victor Moses and Dominic Solanke as the Nigeria-eligible players who have represented Chelsea in the Champions League.

Last season, the 19-year-old captained Chelsea in the prestigious FA Youth Cup and was their top scorer in the Premier League 2 with five goals from eleven appearances.

Anjorin played his first minutes for Chelsea when he was brought on in the 67th minute against Grimsby Town in the League Cup in September 2019 and six months later he made his Premier League debut off the bench in a 4-0 rout of Everton.
