Arsenal legend Patrick Vieira was quick to sing the praises of Michael Olise after his side's 2-2 draw with Leicester City in a Premier League clash at Selhurst Park on Sunday afternoon.
The Palace boss pointed out that the Super Eagles target is not yet in tip-top condition as he only recently recovered from injury and was lacking match fitness.
Olise had an impact after coming off the bench, halving the deficit with a left-footed shot that went into the bottom corner after his initial effort had hit Ryan Bertrand.
In approximately 37 minutes of action against the Foxes, the Anglo-French-Nigerian winger did enough to win over the Palace faithful thanks to his brilliant performance.
Speaking to reporters at the post-match press conference, Vieira said on Olise : "I think we are all really excited about his talent, but at the same time, we have to understand it will take time to be a Premier League player.
"He is working really well, working really hard, and he is in a good football club who will support him to develop himself.
"It’s just about him keeping working. He’s working in training, he can score goals as he showed today. It is a long season, so he will definitely play some games, but we have to give him time as well to develop himself.
"He had a long injury and he is not at his best yet, but he is improving and he will be a really important player for us."
Olise scored his first goal in the Premier League after playing for nineteen minutes spread across three games.
