Zaidu cleared by Porto medics to return to action ahead of title decider

Super Eagles full-back Zaidu Sanusi has been cleared by FC Porto's medical staff to return to action ahead of their crucial title-deciding clash against F.C. Alverca on Saturday, allnigeeriasoccer.com reports.

The Nigerian International had been sidelined after sustaining a muscle injury during Porto’s 2-0 victory over C.D. Tondela at the Estádio do Dragão, where he was forced off in the second half.

The setback ruled him out of key fixtures, including the Taça de Portugal encounter against Sporting CP and last weekend’s league win over C.F. Estrela da Amadora.

However, the Super Eagles left-back has now been given the green light by the club’s medical team and trained fully without any restrictions on Tuesday.

His availability comes as a major boost for FC Porto boss Francesco Farioli ahead of the decisive title clash against F.C. Alverca.

Porto currently sit at the top of the table with 82 points, holding a seven-point advantage over second-placed SL Benfica with three matches remaining.

Zaidu's availability is expected to strengthen a squad that has been dealing with major injury concerns to important players.

Despite an inconsistent start to the campaign, the Nigerian international has grown into an influential figure in the latter stages of the season.

He has registered one goal and one assist in 16 league appearances, contributing to Porto’s strong run-in.

With the title within reach, Farioli will be hoping Sanusi maintains his recent form and provides defensive stability as Porto aim to finish the season on a high and reclaim domestic glory.
