Manager Mikel Arteta handed London-born Nigerian midfielder Ife Ibrahiim a call-up to first-team training on Tuesday prior to hi side's departure for Madrid, allnigeriasoccer.com reports.
Wednesday evening sees the Gunners take on Ademola Lookman’s Atletico Madrid at the Metropolitano Stadium, with the visitors keen to preserve their unbeaten status in this season’s UEFA Champions League.
Young professional Ibrahim trained with Arsenal's first team players at Sobha Realty Training Centre in London Colney, rubbing shoulders with the likes of Bukayo Saka, Noni Madueke and Eberechi Eze.
The 18-year-old made his senior debut in the Champions League, coming off the bench to replace Christian Nørgaard in the 89th of the 3-2 win over Kairat Almaty in January.
Ibrahim's second call-up for a first team game came on March 7 when he was an unused substitute in the FA Cup fifth clash with Mansfield Town.
He joined Arsenal at the age of seven, progressing through the academy ranks to sign a scholarship deal in the summer of 2024.
This season, Ibrahim made sixteen starts in the Premier League 2, and also played against the first team of Newport County, Exeter City and Cardiff City in the EFL Trophy.
