Arteta promotes four teenagers of Nigerian descent to Arsenal first team training pre-Man City

Manager Mikel Arteta promoted four teenagers of Nigerian descent to first team training ahead of his side's potential title decider against Manchester City at the Etihad Stadium, allnigeriasoccer.com reports.

Eighteen-year-olds Ife Ibrahim, Andre Harriman-Annous and Josh Ogunnaike were joined by 19-year-old fullback Josh Nichols in Friday's session at the Sobha Realty Training Centre in London Colney.

Of the quartet, only Ogunnaike is yet to make his senior debut for the Gunners, despite featuring regularly in first team training throughout the season.

While Harriman-Annous made his senior debut against Brighton & Hove Albion in October 2025, Ibrahim was handed his first taste of first team football in the closing stages of the Champions League clash with Kairat Almaty in January 2026.

Meanwhile, Nichols has not featured for the senior side since making his professional debut against Bolton Wanderers in September 2024.

Harriman-Annous and Nichols have been called up for Premier League games in the past.

The four Nigerians were drafted into first team training amid ongoing concerns over the fitness of Noni Madueke, Riccardo Calafoiri, Martin Odegaard and Jurrien Timber.

Bukayo Saka and Mikel Merino are not expected to be part of the travelling squad due to injury.
