Besiktas confirm Super Eagles captain Ndidi suffered hamstring injury against Fenerbahce

Through a press release, Besiktas have confirmed that Wilfred Ndidi sustained a hamstring injury following medical examinations.

The Super Eagles captain was forced off in the 85th minute of the derby clash against Fenerbahçe SK on Sunday, April 5 after experiencing discomfort in his hamstring.

Subsequent MRI scans conducted at Acıbadem Altunizade Hospital revealed a strain accompanied by bleeding in the biceps femoris muscle.

In an official statement, Besiktas revealed that Ndidi's treatment has been started by the club's medical team.

Fenerbahçe secured a 1-0 victory in the derby, with Kerem Aktürkoğlu converting a controversial penalty deep into second half stoppage time.

Ndidi picked up his fourth booking of the season in the 52nd minute, ruling the defensive midfielder out of Besiktas' upcoming clash with Antalyaspor, regardless of his fitness.

The former Leicester City star was cautioned in previous games against Eyupspor, Kocaelispor and Kasimpasa.

Since joining the Black Eagles last summer, Ndidi has featured in 26 matches across the Super Lig, UECL qualifiers and Turkish Cup, scoring two goals.
