Bournemouth Coach Opts Not To Hand Debut To Nigeria U20 Star For Third league Cup Game In A Row
Bournemouth coach Eddie Howe opted not to hand a professional debut to Nigeria U20 international Nnamdi Ofoborh in his side's Carabao Cup fourth round tie with Championship club Norwich City on Tuesday evening.
For the third successive game in the Carabao Cup, the central midfielder watched proceedings from the bench in the game against the Canaries, having done so in previous matches with MK Dons and Blackburn Rovers.
Ofoborh's chance to debut yesterday at the Vitality Stadium ended when Jack Simpson came off the bench in the 86th minute, Howe's third substitution during the match.
With the Cherries advancing to the quarterfinals thanks to goals from Junior Stanislas and Steve Cook, the Flying Eagles star will be hoping to debut in the next round in two months time.
Howe has a particular interest in the development of the 18-year-old Ofoborh as he has trained regularly with the first team since last season.
The former Tottenham Hotspur and Millwall starlet won Bournemouth's Youth Team Player of the Season prize at the club's end of
season awards in May 2018.
