British Passport Scuppers Efe Ambrose Move To Marseille

Out-of-favour Nigeria international Efe Ambrose has rejected the opportunity to join Marseille plus teams in Germany and Belgium in the January transfer window.<br /><br /><i>Daily Mail</i> reports that the Celtic defender is determined to fulfill the residency requirements to obtain a British passport, and must remain in the United Kingdom for a minimum of five years. <br /><br />In the January transfer window, Ambrose turned down moves to Standard Liege (Belgium) and Schalke 04 (Germany).<br /><br />It is claimed that Blackburn Rovers are among the teams in England interested in signing him on loan from the Scottish champions next month. <br /><br />Efe Ambrose joined Celtic from Ashdod in the summer of 2012, and will leave <span class=\"st\">Parkhead as a free agent in June if he doesn</span>&rsquo;t extend his contract. <br /><br />Ifeanyi Emmanuel &nbsp;
