Chelsea have snapped up talented Jamaican striker Dujuan “Whisper” Richards ahead of the 2023-2024 season.
The Premier League giants have pulled off a massive transfer coup to land the services of Richards, who recently underwent a two-week trial at Newcastle United.
Richards, who is seventeen years old, will complete his move to Chelsea when he attains the age of majority.
The promising teenager made a splash in the recently concluded schoolboy season, with a goal involvement of 49 (30 goals, 19 assists) for Kingston College.
His imperious displays over the course of last season earned him a maiden call-up to Jamaica's senior national team for a pair of international friendlies against Trinidad and Tobago.
Richards has been named on the bench for the first of the two friendlies against the Soca Warriors at the Catherine Hall Sports Complex on Saturday.
It is envisaged that he won;t have problems adapting to his new team given that fellow Jamaican Omari Hutchinson is on the books of Chelsea.
