In their third game in the Premier League 2 (Division 1) this season, Arsenal lost 3-1 to Liverpool at the Emirates on Friday night, with two players of Nigerian descent in action for both teams.<br /><br />England U21 international Chuba Akpom went the distance for the Gunners, and ex-Golden Eaglets trainee Ovie Ejaria played his first game since picking up an injury during the first team<span class="body1">&rsquo;s tour of America.<br /><br />A first half brace from Benjamin Woodburn and a strike from Toni Gomez earned the Reds a win, while Akpom pulled a goal back for Arsenal in the 67th minute. <br /><br />Ejaria, who spent nine years at Arsenal prior to his move to Anfield in 2014, subbed off in injury time after he was yellow carded for a challenge on Bielik.<br /><br />Following the appearances of the two Nigerians today, both are unlikely to play for the first team this weekend in the Premier League. <br /><br />Next up for Arsenal U23s is a trip to Staffordshire to face Derby County.
