Super Eagles-eligible midfielder Carney Chukuemeka provided an assist in Chelsea's 5-0 win over English Football League Two side Wrexham in a pre-season game played at the Kenan Memorial Stadium in the United States.
The friendly encounter was Chelsea's first game under new gaffer Mauricio Pochettino which also meant it was also the young midfielder's first appearance under the Argentine tactician.

Ian Maatsen gave the Premier League side the lead as early as the third minute through an assist from new signing Nicolas Jackson.
Chukwuemeka got his assist three minutes before the end of the first half when he played a quick and clever one-two pass with Maatsen to double the Blues' lead.

He got replaced by Conor Gallagher at the start of the second half.

Gallagher got the third goal ten minutes before the end of the normal regulation time before debutant Christopher Nkunku and left-back Ben Chilwell scored a goal apiece within three minutes to complete the rout.

Chukwuemeka's 42nd-minute assist was his first goal contribution for Chelsea since joining the club from Aston Villa last summer, albeit it came in a friendly.

Chukwuemeka will be hoping he can continue to impress his new manager in subsequent pre-season games.
