Super Eagles winger Emmanuel Bonaventure Dennis was not on the score sheet Wednesday night in Club Brugge's 3-1 defeat against 13 time European champions Real Madrid on Match day 6 of the UEFA Champions League but gave a very good account of himself in the Group A match at Brugge's Jan Breydelstadion.
The Nigerian was in action for 90 minutes of the game and had a 45th minute 'goal' chalked off for being in an offside position after a lovely pass from South Africa's Percy Tau.
Dennis also came close to scoring a few more times in the match but eventually was assist provider for teammate
Hans Vanaken who scored the Belgians' consolation goal in the 55th minute two minutes after Brazilian youngster Rodrygo put Madrid ahead with a tidy finish at the edge of the box.
Real Madrid's two other goals were scored by Vinicius Junior and Luka Modric in the 64th and 90th minute respectively.
Dennis scored a brace on 1 October in the first leg at the Bernabeu in a 2-2 draw where he taunted the Madrid fans with the goal celebration of Cristiano Ronaldo.
By virtue of their third place finish in the group the Belgians have dropped down to the UEFA Europa League competition.
In the other group game PSG thrashed Galatasary 5-0.
