With a statement on the official website, Barnsley have confirmed that 2023 Flying Eagles invitee Owen Goodman has joined the League One club on loan from Premier League side Crystal Palace.
Goodman, who has committed his international future to Canada, will spend the remainder of the 2025-2026 season on loan at Barnsley.
The former England youth international spent the first half of the campaign at Huddersfield Town, where he kept four clean sheets in 12 all-competition appearances.
Goodman enjoyed an outstanding campaign with AFC Wimbledon last season, featuring in 53 matches and registering 25 clean sheets across all competitions.
His impressive displays were rewarded with inclusion in the League Two Team of the Season and the Golden Glove award, as Wimbledon sealed promotion via the play-offs with a 1–0 victory over Walsall at Wembley Stadium.
Commenting on his temporary switch to The Reds, Goodman stated: "I’m grateful for the opportunity to be here, and I just want to show everyone what I can do and give my best every single day."
Goodman links up with former Golden Eaglets and Flying Eagles skipper Kelechi Nwakali at Barnsley, who are seventeenth in the League One standings after twenty-one games.
Nwakali was a member of the Super Eagles squad at the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations, contributing to Nigeria's perfect group-stage run by featuring off the bench against Egypt and Sudan before starting against Guinea-Bissau.
