Tosin to work under new manager as Chelsea sack Rosenior after historic goal drought

Through a statement on the official website, Chelsea have confirmed that they have parted company with Liam Rosenior following a poor run of results.

The Blues have now suffered five consecutive defeats without finding the net for the first time since 1912.

They sit seven points adrift of fifth place and are just three points ahead of 12th-placed Fulham, having played a game more.

Rosenior becomes the second manager dismissed by the Chelsea board this season, following Enzo Maresca's departure in January amid disagreements with the club's hierarchy.

The former Strasbourg manager leaves his role just three months after signing a six-year contract at Stamford Bridge, with his exit expected to cost Chelsea in the region of €27 million.

Nigeria Football Federation target Tosin Adarabioyo found opportunities limited under Rosenior, starting only four of a possible 23 matches in all competitions, with a hamstring injury also restricting his involvement.

For now, Calum McFarlane will take charge of Tosin and his teammates as interim head coach until the end of the 2025–2026 season.

Tosin was an unused substitute in Rosenior's final match in charge of Chelsea, a 3–0 defeat to Brighton & Hove Albion at the Amex Stadium on Tuesday.
