Bayern Munich wingback David Alaba has been named the 2013 Austrian Footballer of the Year.<br /><br />The award was administered by the Austrian news agency APA and the winner was chosen by the ten coaches of the Austrian top division.<br /><br />&ldquo;I am really pleased. This is an honour and I want to say thanks to all the trainers who voted for me,&rdquo; said David Alaba.<br /><br />To scoop the prestigious award, the 21 - year - old Austrian - Nigerian was chosen ahead of&nbsp; Kampl Kevin and Jonathan Soriano.<br /><br />David Alaba has now been named the best player in Austria three times, level with retired international Herbert Prohaska.<br /><br />The absolute record is held by <span style=\"\" class=\"notranslate\"> Ivica Vastic who won in 1995, 1998, 1999 and 2007</span>.<br /><br />Photo Credit : uefa.com<br /><br /><br /><br />
