Super Eagles midfielder Fisayo Dele-Bashiru has been included in SS Lazio’s traveling squad for their Serie A clash against Fiorentina, despite lingering concerns over his fitness, allnigeriasoccer.com reports.

The Nigerian midfielder missed several training sessions earlier in the week, raising doubts about his availability for the encounter at the Stadio Artemio Franchi. 

Despite concerns over his fitness, Dele-Bashiru travelled with the team to Florence, offering a timely boost and raising optimism about his potential involvement.

Dele-Bashiru was spotted arriving at the airport with his teammates in footage shared on the club’s official social media channels, suggesting that he remains in contention.

His inclusion comes as a timely boost for head coach Maurizio Sarri, who is keen to secure a positive result as Lazio continue their push for a European qualification spot. 

The 25-year-old has endured a stop-start campaign due to fitness setbacks but remains an important figure within the squad.

So far this season, Dele-Bashiru has registered one goal and one assist in 20 appearances across all competitions, underlining his contribution when available.

Though back in contention, it remains to be seen whether the midfielder will be named in the starting XI or utilised from the bench.
