'Dismantling Euro defences' - Oliseh says Nigeria forwards Osimhen, Adams and Lookman are a joy to watch

Former Nigeria captain and coach Sunday Oliseh has lauded the attacking prowess of Super Eagles forwards Victor Osimhen, Ademola Lookman and Akor Adams.

Since the start of the 2025–2026 season, Osimhen, Lookman and Adams have scored a combined 51 goals across their respective clubs and for Nigeria—28 for Galatasaray's Osimhen, 12 for Sevilla's Adams, and 11 for Atletico Madrid's Lookman.

While Nigeria's attacking talent has shone on the pitch, their recent performances reveal an uncomfortable truth.

The Super Eagles' impressive run in the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations masks the failure to qualify for back-to-back World Cups despite having world-class strikers in their ranks.

Although Oliseh praised Nigeria's attacking trio, he stressed that the Super Eagles still face significant challenges ahead of the 2030 World Cup qualifiers.

Speaking on Global Football Insights With Oliseh, the two-time World Cupper said: "Let's look at the facts. We have world-class dominance right now from Victor Osimhen, Akor Adams and Ademola Lookman.

"It's joy to watch these guys perform. These guys are dismantling European defences. They are our fuel at the moment, but even the best fuel is useless if the engine is broken."

Oliseh warned that the bulk of Nigeria's current squad may no longer be around for the next World Cup and urged the Nigeria Football Federation to start preparing for the future.
