With a statement on the official website, Scottish Premiership side Aberdeen have announced the signing of English-born Nigerian striker Toyosi Olusanya.
Olusanya has joined the Scottish Cup holders on loan from Major League Soccer side Houston Dynamo for the remainder of the 2025-2026 season.
The 28-year-old has some Scottish Premiership experience, having made 62 appearances in the division across three seasons at St Mirren, registering 18 goal involvements (13 goals, 5 assists).
He spent the first half of the campaign at Doncaster Rovers, where he featured in eleven matches without scoring or registering an assist.
Aberdeen have secured the signing of Olusanya after missing out on Super Eagles centre-back Leonard Ngenge.
The Dons had explored a deal for the highly rated 18-year-old defender following an impressive trial spell, but Ngenge and his representatives opted for a move to Leeds United.
Speaking on his loan move to Aberdeen, Olusanya told RedTV: "Aberdeen is a huge club. I’ve seen the passion the fans have for the team, driving them on to do well. Everywhere they go, the supporters travel in big numbers and really get behind the team, so we need to give that back with our performances and hard work.
“I want to show what I can do. The last two years at St Mirren were good for me. Scottish football is where I really made a name for myself and hopefully, I can pick up where I left off."
Olusanya counts Walton Casuals, Gosport Borough, Billericay Town, Middlesbrough and Arbroath among his former clubs.
