'Dursun Ozbek said' - Insider claims Galatasaray prioritising deal for Salah over Lookman

Galatasaray are reportedly shifting their transfer focus towards Liverpool superstar Mohamed Salah ahead of Atalanta forward Ademola Lookman, according to new revelations from club insider Uğur Karakullukçu.

Lookman, who endured a difficult start to the season in Serie A, has recently rediscovered his form, scoring twice and providing an assist in his last four matches across all competitions.

His resurgence had reignited interest from Galatasaray, who were previously linked with a potential January move for the Nigerian international.

However, despite Lookman’s improved displays, it appears the Turkish champions are reconsidering their strategy.

Speaking on his YouTube channel, Karakullukçu disclosed that club president Dursun Özbek is leaning toward a more ambitious pursuit.

He stressed that the Yellow-Reds may turn their attention to Salah instead, citing the significant financial burden associated with signing the Nigerian international.

"Dursun Özbek said, 'Instead of paying Lookman 45 million Euros, and considering his salary will be around 10 million Euros plus taxes, let's go for Mohamed Salah.,” Ozbek said as quoted by habersarikirmizi.

“If we can afford his transfer fee, let's get Salah.' There's an idea to go for Salah instead of Lookman. The goal is to get him from Liverpool for free."

The Egyptian forward has slipped down the pecking order at Liverpool after a challenging start to the season, a development that has cast doubt over his long-term future at Anfield.

As the January window approaches, more clarity is expected regarding Galatasaray’s forward-line reinforcements, with both Salah and Lookman continuing to attract significant attention.
