Crystal Palace suffered their second consecutive loss in the Premier League, conceding ten goals in the process, after they were thrashed 3-0 by Aston Villa at Villa Park on Saturday evening.
England U21 international of Nigerian parentage Ebeechi Eze started for the Eagles - his eighth consecutive start in the top-flight - and put in an impressive shift despite the heavy loss.
Playing with ten men for the entirety of the second half, Aston Villa took the lead through Bertrand Traoré early in the game, Anwar El Ghazi had the final say in the scoring in the 76th minute, ten minutes after Kortney Hause had doubled the lead.
Eze had a chance to reduce the deficit three minutes to the end of the game but goalkeeper Emiliano Martinez made a tidy save, diving low to his left.
Just before the game started, Manchester City legend Micah Richards shared his appreciation for the Palace number 25, saying he is a joy to watch.
Richards said on BBC : "What I like about him the most is that he is always looking to pass forward.
"He can drive forward and plays one-twos. He is just a joy to watch."
The lively Eze received his first ever caution in the Premier League for tripping Jack Grealish in the 83rd minute.
