The Super Eagles arrived in Douala on Saturday, a day before their crucial 2022 World Cup qualifying match against Central African Republic.
Nigeria are looking to return to winning ways and know there is no margin for error again after they suffered a shock 1-0 defeat at the hands of the Wild Beasts two days ago in Lagos.
Under the guidance of manager Gernot Rohr, the Super Eagles players had a feel of the Stade Omnisport de Bepanda in Douala shortly after their arrival in Cameroon.
As expected, it was a behind-closed-doors training session with only the first fifteen minutes open to the Nigerian journalists that turned up.
Immediately after the workout, Rohr had a chat with the Super Eagles Media Officer Babafemi Raji.
The Franco-German spoke about the stadium, the training session, his expectations against Central African Republic and provided an update on his team news.
Here's every word Rohr said during the short briefing :
Coach Gernot Rohr we are here in Douala at the stadium, we are counting down to tomorrow's game against Central African Republic. So far so good how would you say it has been in terms of preparations?
"We had a good training session. We know that the AFCON will give us a wonderful infrastructure, so the pitch is nice, the stadium is wonderful, perhaps will be empty tomorrow. It is not a problem for us.
"We have to play our football, on this great pitch I think we can do it better than the other day.
"We have to do a result, everybody knows that now it is necessary to do this victory, we didn't do it the other day.
"Three days later we are here now, have the opportunity to make good rehabilitation. That's why the team will not change so much.
"We will change a little bit but not too much, bringing two or three fresh players into the team but the collective will be very strong I hope.
"And tomorrow in this empty stadium we need also a good communication between us so we are very confident that tomorrow will be a good game".
