Former Flying Eagles defender Ademilua Adebayo says there are no similarities between Chelsea star N'Golo Kante and the player that reportedly replaced the France international at Leicester City, Wilfred Ndidi.

Few years back, Adebayo and Ndidi partnered each other in central defense during their time together at famous Lagos-based grassroots club Nath Boys, and the IFK Varnamo new signing is pleased with the progress made by the Foxes number 25.

''I now play mostly at left back but we were central defense partners at Nath Boys, I am very happy for Ndidi, he's a very good player and will keep working hard,'' said Adebayo to allnigeriasoccer.com.

''We believed in ourselves at Nath Boys, we didn't believe in giving ourselves nicknames of more famous footballers.

''The only nickname we called Ndidi was Willi. He is not like Kante and doesn't play like Kante. Look at them properly, they don't play the same pattern.

''Every single player prays to make it in his career, and I am happy Ndidi has gone this far.''

Ndidi, 20, continues to thrive in his midfield role since his arrival in England,  and made his 100th appearance as a professional footballer this past week against Atletico Madrid in the Champions League.
