Flying Eagles winger Suleman Sani has returned to team training with RB Leipzig for the first time since he suffered an ankle injury.
The club confirmed on its official website that the young forward participated in parts of a team training session during training session on Wednesday, marking a significant step in his rehabilitation process.
The session was conducted under the supervision of head coach Ole Werner.
Club medical staff will continue to monitor Sani’s fitness as he is gradually reintroduced to full training intensity.
While a return to competitive action next weekend is considered unlikely, his progress represents encouraging news for the squad depth at the German club.
Sani sustained the ankle ligament injury earlier in the season, forcing him to spend several weeks on the sidelines.
Before moving to Europe, he first gained recognition in Nigeria’s domestic league with Akwa United FC, where he won the Nigeria Premier Football League Rookie of the Season award following a series of impressive performances.
His form later earned him a transfer to AS Trenčín, where he continued his development in European football before securing his move to RB Leipzig.
RB Leipzig continues its preparations for upcoming fixtures while monitoring the forward’s fitness progression ahead of his potential return to first-team selection.
