French coach names Super Eagles player who has surprised him, rates Nigeria's attack above Morocco

French coach Julien Mett has revealed that Super Eagles striker Akor Adams has surprised him with his performances ahead of the Africa Cup of Nations semifinal showdown against Morocco, scheduled for Wednesday night at Rabat’s Prince Moulay Abdellah Stadium.

Adams has registered four goal involvements at Afcon 2025, a tally surpassed by only four players: teammates Ademola Lookman (7) and Victor Osimhen (6), as well as Brahim Diaz (5) and Mohamed Salah.

The Sevilla forward has been one of the standout performers in the knockout stages, directly participating in three goals in Nigeria's commanding victory over Mozambique, before adding a strike in their most recent clash against Algeria.

Mett praised Nigeria's offensive strength, and believes that their depth up front gives them an edge over Morocco's Atlas Lions.

In quotes relayed by Elbotola, he stated: "Nigeria are the strongest offensively. They have more weapons, with their attacking trio, notably Lookman and Osimhen, in addition to Chukwueze who can come on as a substitute, and Akor Adams who has surprised us in this edition.

"For me, Nigeria has more attacking options, while Morocco doesn't rest, but Brahim Diaz stands out enormously, and when he comes off, you wonder who will finish the chances. However, there is a clear Moroccan plan based on high ball possession."

Ahead of their much-anticipated encounter with Morocco, the Super Eagles are expected to arrive in Rabat on Monday.
