The Golden Eaglets of Nigeria defeated Asians Iraq to qualify for the second round of the Fifa Under 17 World Cup.<br /><br />Nigeria, three time winners of the competition, thrashed Iraq 5- 0 on Friday afternoon at the Rashid Stadium, Dubai.<br /><br />The Iraqis were already trailing 4 - 0 at the end of the first half and conceded a late goal just before the final whistle.<br /><br />Captain Musa Mohammed kept his nerve, converting from the penalty spot in the 4th minute after skillful midfielder Musa Yahaya was brought down.<br /><br />Barely a minute late, Mohammed turned provider for Nwakili, who fired from close range. <br /><br />Nigeria scored two further goals through the impressive Musa Yahaya in the 17th and 41st minute.<br /><br />Substitute Chigozi Obasi shot from 20 yards in the 90th minute added more gloss to the scoreline.<br /><br />Group rivals Mexico and Sweden played a 0 - 0 draw and the convenient result means both countries have also scaled through to the round of 16.<br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br />
