'He plays for a big club ' - Rangers coach addresses Fernandez's Arsenal, West Ham and Feyenoord links

Rangers head coach Danny Röhl has played down growing transfer speculation surrounding Nigerian defender Emmanuel Fernandez, insisting the player remains focused and continues to develop rapidly at Ibrox.

Fernandez, who arrived at Rangers during the summer transfer window, has enjoyed a standout debut campaign in Scotland, combining defensive solidity with an eye for goal.

Operating as a central defender, the 24-year-old has scored five goals in 22 league appearances, playing a key role as Rangers push to secure the Scottish Premiership title.

His performances have reportedly attracted interest from top European clubs, including Arsenal, West Ham United, and Feyenoord ahead of the summer window.

Speaking during a press conference before the clash against Motherwell, Röhl acknowledged Fernandez's rapid rise but emphasized the importance of his current environment.

"Manny knows as well what he has here. I think he developed very quick and soon," he said during the press conference ahead of the clash against Motherwell.

"We should not forget one year ago, he played in the League One.

"Now, he plays for a big club and if everything goes well as we want, maybe he can play next year at the highest competition."

The Rangers boss also highlighted the club's structure and environment as key factors in the player's growth.

"I think we have a lot of argument, good training squad, fantastic stadium, nice city, and good fans, owners, and the group together are the things that help us for players to develop and play at the highest level of football," he added.

Fernandez's outstanding season has also earned him his maiden call-up to the Nigeria national football team, alongside a place in the Scottish Premiership Team of the Season.

The 24-year-old made his international debut in a 2-1 victory over Iran national football team before netting his first goal on his full debut against Jordan national football team.

With only a handful of games remaining this season, the former Peterborough United defender will be eager to maintain his impressive form as Rangers push to secure the league title.
