'I can't say the same' - Former Trabzonspor coach suggests Osimhen is more dangerous than Onuachu

Former Trabzonspor manager Sadi Tekelioğlu has drawn a sharp contrast between the influence of Nigerian forwards Victor Osimhen and Paul Onuachu ahead of the highly anticipated Turkish Süper Lig clash between Trabzonspor and Galatasaray.

Speaking in the buildup to the fixture, Tekelioğlu stressed that Osimhen’s absence could significantly tilt the balance of the contest.

He said, as quoted by habersarikirmizi. "Osimhen's absence is a big advantage for Trabzonspor, but I can't say the same for Galatasaray regarding Onuachu's absence; they will fill that gap."

The former coach further underlined the disparity in influence between the two Super Eagles forwards.

He explained, "I don't think Onuachu will affect Trabzonspor as much as Osimhen affected Galatasaray. Galatasaray is much more important for Osimhen. There is no more dangerous player than Osimhen in Türkiye."

The statistics this season offer context to his remarks. Osimhen has scored 12 league goals for Galatasaray during the 2025/26 campaign, alongside additional contributions in other competitions, underlining his status as one of the division’s elite forwards.

Meanwhile, Onuachu has enjoyed an outstanding campaign for Trabzonspor, emerging as one of the most prolific strikers in the league with 21 goals, placing him at the top of the scoring charts.

Despite Onuachu’s impressive numbers, Tekelioğlu’s comments point to differences in tactical reliance.

Trabzonspor have demonstrated attacking depth, with multiple players contributing goals, while Galatasaray’s system appears more centered around Osimhen’s movement, physicality, and finishing ability.
