'I like him' - Former PL goalkeeper waxes lyrical about Fulham forward Chukwueze

Former Premier League goalkeeper Shay Given has expressed his admiration for the qualities of Nigerian winger Samuel Chukwueze following Fulham’s goalless draw against Brentford on Saturday.

Chukwueze, who is currently on loan at Fulham from AC Milan, was introduced before the interval after compatriot Alex Iwobi was forced off with a suspected hamstring injury.

Speaking on Premier League Productions, as monitored by allnigeriasoccer.com, Given highlighted Chukwueze’s attacking qualities and expressed optimism about his influence on the game.

“Chukwueze has come on the pitch. I like him as well, he is a really attacking player. You will hopefully get the same link-up play in the second half,” Given said.

“At least a bit of spark because the first half has been relatively poor. Keane Lewis-Potter had a massive chance on the stroke of half-time to give Brentford the lead and didn’t take it.”

Despite Chukwueze’s introduction, Fulham were unable to find a breakthrough, settling for a stalemate as they looked to recover from their recent defeat to Liverpool.

Since his move to Craven Cottage, the Nigerian international has made a strong impression, registering three goals and four assists in 19 league appearances.

His performances have reportedly prompted Fulham to consider a permanent deal at the end of the season.

With Fulham still pushing for a potential European qualification spot, Chukwueze is expected to play a key role as the campaign approaches its decisive stages.
