Odion Ighalo has given an indication of the family atmosphere at Manchester United when he revealed that he received an unexpected phone call from the club's legendary striker Andy Cole shortly after he signed for the Red Devils.
The former Nigeria international has been a United fan since he can remember and fulfilled his childhood dream of playing for the Premier League giants when he made his competitive debut against Chelsea on February 17.
Ighalo says he's learning to become a better finisher by watching old video clips of Andy Cole.
"I have a lot of memories about Andy Cole, he's one of the best goalscorers I've ever come across, he scored a lot of goals for Manchester United, the way he finishes," Ighalo told Manchester United's official YouTube account.
"Some of the clips I've seen again, the one I have not seen before, I learn one or two things from that. It's a priviledge talking with Cole."
The Manchester United number 25 continued : "When I signed for Manchester United he gave me a surprise call, early in the morning he woke me up with a phone call congratulating me and wishing me well even before I started training with the team, which I really cherished most.
"One of those great things I'd always cherish, a big idol for Manchester United calling me and wishing me well before I started kicking a ball for Manchester United.
"I have seen a lot of goals and I'm still Learning, I'm still hoping I'm going to score more for Manchester United."
Ighalo has scored four times in a Manchester United jersey and the pick of the goals was against LASK in the Europa League while the other three were scrappy penalty penalty box goals.
