'It was really important' - Valencia's Sadiq reacts after scoring against nine different La Liga opponents

Sadiq Umar has described his first La Liga goal of the season as an important milestone, stressing that Valencia’s togetherness and squad depth will play a vital role in maintaining their upward momentum this season.

The Super Eagles striker has now found the net against nine different La Liga opponents in his career — CA Osasuna, Sevilla FC, Villarreal CF, Elche CF, Atlético Madrid, Rayo Vallecano, Granada CF, Real Valladolid CF and Levante UD.

Sadiq sealed a 2-0 away victory over Levante with six minutes remaining, calmly finishing to put the result beyond doubt.

The Nigerian international latched onto a precise pass from Javi Guerra before unleashing a powerful effort into the top corner, leaving the home supporters stunned.

Speaking after the encounter, Sadiq described the goal as both special and important, noting that the win will boost the team’s confidence as they aim to keep improving and secure their La Liga status.

"Yes, it was really important," he said as reported by Eldesmarque. "We know the strength of the group, having a complete squad, and that's what will give us the strength to keep growing," he stated.

Since completing the move to Valencia, the Super Eagles striker has begun rediscovering his best form after a difficult start to the season at Real Sociedad.

The former Almeria striker, who initially struggled to secure regular minutes and consistent appearances, has now found the net three times in eight outings across all competitions.

His recent contributions have helped lift Valencia out of the relegation zone, having kicked off the match in the drop places after Rayo Vallecano’s win over Atlético Madrid.
