'It's not a penalty nor yellow card' - Porto coach addresses incident involving Zaidu and Sa

Ahead of Porto's Europa League quarterfinal clash with Nottingham Forest, manager Francesco Farioli revisited the controversial incident between Zaidu and Gustavo Sá during the first half of the Primeira Liga match on Saturday, April 4.

One of the most controversial moments in Porto's encounter with Famalicão involved Zaidu and Sá, with the Azuis e Brancos claiming the challenge deserved both a penalty and a second yellow for the Nigeria international.

Zaidu had been walking a disciplinary tightrope after he was cautioned in the 21st minute for hauling Rodrigo Pinheiro to the ground.

Had referee Sérgio Guelho issued a second yellow to the left-back, Porto would have been reduced to ten men for the entire second half.

Reacting to the incident, Francesco Farioli said at Wednesday's press conference: "Yes, I saw it and for me it's not a penalty. Nor a yellow card..."

This season, Zaidu has picked up two yellow cards in fourteen Portuguese top-flight appearances, registering a goal and an assist across 818 minutes on the pitch.

The Super Eagles defender has also picked up two bookings in the Europa League and must avoid another caution tomorrow evening at the Estádio do Dragão to remain eligible for the second leg at the City Ground.

On Zaidu's flank, he faces an intriguing battle with international teammate Ola Aina, who is Forest's first-choice right-back.
